What are the types of insulin pens
With the development of society and the improvement of people's living standards, the incidence rate of some diseases related to living environment, living habits and other factors is also gradually increasing, such as diabetes and other diseases. For patients with diabetes, a metabolic syndrome, insulin is often used. As for insulin, which can only be injected but not taken orally, its use method is also particular.
In order to facilitate diabetes patients to inject drugs at home according to the doctor's advice, there are now various insulin pens on the market. The patient can assemble the drug injection according to the instructions of the medical staff.
The insulin pens frequently used in clinical practice are mainly divided into the following two categories:
1、 Reusable insulin pen: The cartridge of this type of insulin pen can be replaced. The patient can change another refill to inject new drugs after using the drugs. Reusable insulin pens have a long service life, and some can even be used for life. They are widely used in clinical practice.
2、 Disposable insulin pen: This type of insulin pen belongs to disposable products, that is, it must be discarded together with the cartridge and pen after use, and cannot be reused. The use of disposable insulin pens is much simpler and more hygienic than that of refolding insulin pens, but the cost performance is lower than that of repetitive insulin pens. Therefore, such insulin pens are seldom used in China.
To sum up, both reusable insulin pens and disposable insulin pens bring great convenience to diabetes patients. Patients do not have to go to the hospital frequently to inject insulin, and their compliance will be higher, which is also conducive to better control the patient's condition. However, in the process of using the insulin pen, the patient should also pay attention not to repeatedly hit a position, otherwise it may cause local tissue proliferation and form a mass, which should be noticed by the patient.
